IAShares Deliveries Set To Resume
Delivery Service Restarts June 8th
The State Library is pleased to announce that IAShares van delivery service is scheduled to restart on Monday June 8, 2020. Thanks to library staff reporting their reopening dates, we have reached the minimum number of public libraries needed to be reopened with staff in the buildings to accept ILL deliveries.
More detailed information will be forthcoming later this week. At this point we want to confirm the start date for IAShares that we proposed in our last update on May 22 State Library administrators continue working with StatCourier and Mobius to make final preparations this week. Please note that there may be some modifications to route schedules as most libraries across the state are implementing reduced hours and phased reopenings.
State Librarian Michael Scott writes “Starting next Monday June 8, initial deliveries will include all materials that have been stored at the IAShares hubs since March 30th AND more IAShares bags that are due to arrive at the State Library this week. Along
with delivering materials to libraries, the plan is to pick up as many materials as libraries have ready—more on this process later this week. We ask for everyone's patience as
we restart the IAShares delivery service. Please know that we are working towards as smooth and efficient a process as possible…”
Thanks to all library staff who answered the call by updating your library’s reopening information via our website. If you have not yet reported your library’s reopening date, please do so by clicking the button below and filling out a quick questionnaire.
We ask that you complete this task sooner rather than later.
For those libraries we don’t hear from via the online reporting form, expect a follow-up contact from State Library staff to determine your status for receiving ILL deliveries starting the week of June 8. Please understand that your ability to receive ILL deliveries on your scheduled delivery date DOES NOT MEAN that your library will be or must be open to the public.
