CRUNCH into Cucumbers Childcare can apply for a $200 mini-grant to purchase local food. Crunch into Cucumbers - it's kind of a Big Dill! Participants are required to source local cucumbers from area producers. With this collective focus on a prolific local veggie, we work to support local food access and local farmers across Iowa. Due date is May 20th.

CACFP COVID-19 Waivers and Flexibilities

Farm to School and Early Care Virtual Conference June 19th  Join the Iowa Farm to School and Early Care Coalition for a virtual conference on June 19, 2020, 1–3 p.m. Register Here by June 16. The Zoom link will be shared a few days before the 19th to all who have registered. The virtual gathering includes: Planning for 2020 Farm to School Month amidst COVID-19 Presentations from groups working across Iowa Connecting with school and early care leaders Iowa Team Nutrition will offer $350 sub-grants to CACFP centers and $100 to CACFP home providers to support farm to early care activities.

I also subscribe to Iowa State Extension office's newsletter and receive recipes through email from this organization that are formatted to the CACFP guidelines and utilize only credible foods. I keep these recipes in a small box in my kitchen and use them each week when making a menu and grocery list for the next week for my home child care program." Spend Smart. Eat Smart.
