CACFP Meal Pattern Training

Home Sponsors, you are invited to attend a CACFP Home Sponsor Meal Pattern “Train the Trainer” event. This is a free, interactive training day to learn about whole grain ounce equivalents, the grain bread chart, and menu planning in CACFP. 

  • May 16 in Mason City, North Iowa Area Community College
  • June 4 in Altoona, Polk County ISU Extension Office

Attendees will receive the education and training materials, and $800 grant for training your Home Providers. Mileage reimbursement and sub-pay are also available. Get more details here

Identifying Whole Grain-Rich Foods for CACFP Using the Ingredient List. CACFP can use this colorful four-page worksheet to identify foods that are whole grain-rich using the Rule of Three.

On Wednesday, March 20th, (1:00 p.m. Central) USDA Team Nutrition is excited to demonstrate and provide in-depth practice for using the FBG Calculator, a new feature designed to create a shopping list to assist all Child Nutrition program operators when ordering food for their programs.

Program operators will be able to create and use their shopping list on-the-go. One hour CEU awarded toward CACFP Professionals Certification.
