LSA Budget Analysis to HHS Budget Subcommittee

The Legislative Services Agency presented a budget analysis during a Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee Meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 29. The Bluebook Analysis examines the FY2020 and FY2021 governor's budget recommendations.

For IDPH, recommendations include a $300,000 reallocation to fund pilot projects focused on performance improvement in the public health delivery system. Funding would be used to support local public health resource needs to work on performance improvement projects identified by local public health administrators. Workforce development and performance management strategies would be used.

An additional $306,250 is recommended to expand the Your Life Iowa referral system to include information, support and referrals for children and families experiencing mental health issues.

LSA also noted work done through the Substance Use Disorder Provider Reimbursement Workgroup.
