Small Change: Building Financial Security Course Offered to Iowa Educators
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, in partnership with ISEA, are offering several workshops to support educator's personal financial management knowledge, skills, and confidence with "small changes". The course also addresses how to prepare yourself to address financial literacy in the classroom. License renewal credit is available. For more information and to sign up, go here. New Financial Literacy Content from AEA Student Personalized Learning System
AEA Learning Online has released a series of modules to help support 9-12 students learn financial literacy through the 21st century skills standards in financial literacy. Check out the modules here.
Scholarship Offers 30 Iowa Students $2,000 for College
Iowa high school seniors are eligible to enter the Iowa Financial Know-How Challenge: Senior Scholarship sponsored by Iowa Student Loan. The scholarship program awards a $2,000 college scholarship to each of 30 recipients and provides corresponding $250 awards to each recipient’s high school.
Your students may register and read complete rules at www.IowaStudentLoan.org/Enter now through Feb. 22, 2019. To qualify for consideration, students will follow emailed instructions to complete two online college planning and financing tools and a related assessment. The 30 students with the highest scores on the assessment or on a tie-breaker element if needed will receive a $2,000 scholarship.
Registered students also receive additional college planning information tips via email during the registration period. Educators may visit www.IowaStudentLoan.org/Promote to download promotional materials for this program as well as upcoming award programs sponsored by Iowa Student Loan.
