NAIG TO VISIT 7 COUNTIES JULY 25-28

Stops planned in Missouri Valley, Onawa, Le Mars, Dubuque, Maquoketa, Donahue and Webster City during the week

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig today announced that he will be making stops in Harrison, Monona, Plymouth, Dubuque, Jackson, Scott and Hamilton counties on July 25-28.

Harrison County – 9:30 a.m., visit Sawmill Hollow Family Farm, 2159 Kennedy Ave., Missouri Valley

Monona County – 12:00 p.m., tour Horizon AG, 1815 235th St., Onawa

 

Thursday, July 26, 2018

Plymouth County – 2:30 p.m., visit the Plymouth County Fair, 500 4th Ave NE, Le Mars

 

Friday, July 27, 2018

Dubuque County – 11:00 a.m., visit the Dubuque County Fair, 14569 Old Hwy Rd, Dubuque

Jackson County – 2:30 p.m., visit the Jackson County Fair, 1212 E Quarry St, Maquoketa

Scott County – 5:30 p.m., participate in Farm to Table Dinner, Cinnamon Ridge Farms, 10600 275th St., Donahue

Hamilton County - 11:00 a.m., visit the Hamilton County Fair, 1200 Bluff St, Webster City


Naig was appointed by Governor Kim Reynolds to succeed Bill Northey as Iowa Secretary of Agriculture on Monday, March 5, 2018. Prior to that, he had served as Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture for Northey since September 2013.

As Secretary, he is committed to leading efforts to protect consumers, expanding economic opportunities for Iowans and advocating in Iowa and around the globe on behalf of the hard-working men and women who keep us fed and fueled.

Mike Naig grew up on a family farm in the northwest corner of the state near Cylinder, Iowa and he continues to be involved in the operation today.
