New Reimbursement Rates

Updated reimbursement rates effective from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 were published today in the Federal Register. The rates will be posted on the IowaCNP website under Claims, Claim Rates - Centers. You will receive the new rates starting with the July claim.

Center FY 2018 Application Renewal

CACFP application renewal instructions for fiscal year (FY) 2018 were emailed July 5, 2017 followed by a webinar on July 11. If you did not receive the email, request a copy from Robin.Holz@iowa.gov or your area consultant. If you missed the webinar, it was recorded and can be accessed here (this is a different than the link sent immediately after the webinar).  Applications are due by August 18, 2017.

New CACFP Meal Pattern 

Reminder: The new meal pattern must be implemented by 10/1/2017.  Forms needed to implement the new meal pattern are available in IowaCNP Download Forms.  A webinar on the New Meal Pattern was broadcast on July 18, 2017.  The webinar is posted on the Iowa Department of education website. You may request a certificate for watching the recorded webinar from Janelle.Loney@iowa.gov.  You may request the slides from Robin.Holz@iowa.gov.  Additional training will be available through the Iowa CACFP Steps to Success online training modules this fall.  Module 2 will cover the new meal pattern for participants age two and over, and Module 15 will discuss infant feeding.  

CACFP Administrative Manual

The seventh edition of the CACFP Administrative Manual has been sent to print and will be mailed to CACFP organizations in August. The manual has been updated with the new meal pattern and other CACFP changes that have taken place since it the sixth edition was printed in 2015. The updated manual is available by chapter in IowaCNP Download Forms.

We will include new meal pattern posters for each child care center site when the manual is mailed. An adult new meal pattern poster is not currently available.  If you need additional copies of the manual or posters, request from Janelle.Loney@iowa.gov.
