Family and Consumer Sciences National Standards 3.0

Division of Community Colleges & Workforce Preparation

It is an exciting time for Family and Consumer Sciences as we continue with the National Standards Revision.  This project, titled National Standards 3.0, involves collaboration with our numerous stakeholders as we review and revise the National Standards to be sure they meet current and projected industry needs.  This phase of the project will culminate with the approval of the standards at the NASAFACS Conference in May 2017.  After they have been approved, the standards will be published electronically in order to be universally available. Phase two will begin that next year and will include conducting special projects and creating resources to assist with implementation.

There are many critical steps in the process and getting input from stakeholders is a key component to the success of the project.

At this time, we are seeking teachers  to review our final draft of the standards.  The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to review.  Please consider the area of study, industry needs for this area, and pedagogy.  http://www.nasafacs.org/national-standards-30-review.html

This is your opportunity to be sure your perspective and opinions are considered as the National Standards 3.0 are updated. We appreciate your commitment to Family and Consumer Sciences and your participation as we begin this process.

We need your help to expand the pool of respondents as much as possible.  The more respondents we have from each stakeholder category, the better will be the results.  Please share this message and survey links with your colleagues that would be qualified to review our national standards and encourage their participation.
