Important Change to City's Vegetative Waste Bag Policy The City of Marietta's Environmental Services Department remains committed to providing cost effective and efficient services while remaining environmentally conscientious. Because plastic bags are not readily compostable, effective January 1, 2017 we will only accept compostable brown paper bags for all grass clippings, pine needles, leaves and similar yard trimmings. As always, customers are permitted to use non-disposable rigid containers for similar yard debris. No other provisions for yard debris service are changing at this time. Read more |

Random Acts of Kindness On December 19th, 2016 multiple Marietta Police Officers, Civilians and Volunteers spent their morning participating in Shop with a Cop at Walmart. Seven children were selected by Marietta School Administrators to join MPD Employees on a Christmas shopping spree. The children that are selected often purchase necessities such as: clothing, shoes, socks, jackets, etc. Many even find gifts for other family members that are in need as well. Read more |
