  City of Marietta Receives Grant to Fund Improvements at Franklin Gateway Sports Complex
The City of Marietta today announced it has been awarded a $45,000 grant from the U.S. Soccer Foundation. This grant is intended to help fund the lighting of the fields at the new Franklin Gateway Sports Complex. The City of Marietta was one of nine organizations nationwide to receive a grant. Read more

  Statewide Annual Burn Ban Begins May 1

  Marietta Fire Department Announces "MFD SAFE Program"
The Marietta Fire Department is pleased to announce its "MFD SAFE Program" now provides Home Fire Safety Visits for the entire City of Marietta community. When requested, members of the Marietta Fire Department will meet you and your family at your home. There MFD will assess, and discuss, things that you can do to prepare for and respond to an emergency. Read more
 
  Taste of Marietta Draws Record Breaking Crowds and Award Winners
Taste of Marietta, the Marietta Visitors Bureau's largest annual fundraiser, brought together over 70 Cobb Country restaurants, caterers, and food trucks to sample their tastiest dishes this past Sunday. With beautiful, sunny weather all day, record breaking crowds gathered on the Marietta Square for the event, now in its 23rd year. Read more

  Marietta PAL Seeking Facilitators for New Enrichment Program During PAL's Summer Camp
The Marietta Police Athletic League is looking for exceptional facilitators to participate in our new enrichment program for middle and high school children during PAL's Summer Camp June 6th through July 22nd. The goal of this program is to equip youth with the knowledge and skills needed to make them exceptionally successful adults. This well-rounded program will focus on three areas: the Mind, Body and Soul of the child. Read more
 
  CobbWorks Offers Free Workshops for Job Seekers Starting Friday, May 6
CobbWorks has announced a special "Know Your Rights" workshop series for the month of May, beginning Friday, May 6, 2016, presented by Atlanta Legal Aid Society. Registration is preferred for all workshops, but walk-ins are welcome.   Marietta Police Offers Program to Keep Marietta's Youth Safe
The Marietta Police Department is dedicated to protecting its citizens in every way possible by finding ways to fight and prevent crime, while also finding ways to educate and protect the City's youth through a program called Radkids, a personal empowerment safety education, which includes a 10 hour curriculum for children ages 8 to 12. Read more
 
  Help Raise Funds for the Marietta Museum of History Aviation Wing
Blue Ridge Helicopters will be offering helicopter rides over Marietta from the Marietta Museum of History Aviation Wing Site on Saturday, May 7, 2016 weather conditions permitting. Operational hours for the helicopter rides Saturday will be from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The cost of a helicopter ride is $45 per person (cash only) for a six to eight mile round trip aerial tour of Marietta. Read more
 
  National Drug Take Back Event April 30th
On April 30th, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Marietta Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 10th opportunity in five years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Please bring your pills for disposal to the Marietta Police Department at 240 Lemon St Marietta, Ga 30060. (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Read more
 
  Online Registration Now Open for Marietta's 2016 July 4th Parade
The City of Marietta is now accepting applications for the 2016 July 4th parade. School bands, military units, civic organizations, beauty queens, local Boys and Girl Scout clubs, area businesses and others can sign up online to be part of the City's biggest celebration of the year. Read more
 
  Marietta Police Department Hosts Charity Golf Tournament for Special Olympics
The Marietta Police Department is hosting a charity golf tournament to benefit the Special Olympics of Georgia and the 26,000 Georgia athletes/participants. The Special Olympics offers 25 different sports for the athletes to experience. Athletes gain confidence and life skills by participating and competing in their chosen sport. We invite you to join us for a day of golf to help raise money and awareness for this cause. Read more
 
  Martinis and Music Friday, April 29th at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art
