Ocmulgee PFA Re-Opens to Public
Anticipating up to 20,000 users each year, the Georgia Department of
Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division today re-opened the Ocmulgee
Public Fishing Area, giving boaters and anglers great access to a celebrated
fishing location.
“In anticipation of the opening, we sampled the fish population on the
lake in early October,” says John Biagi, Chief of the WRD Fisheries Management
Section. “While there is still a lot of growing for these fish to do, we think
anglers will be pleased with good-size catches of bass, bluegill, redear
sunfish, and white crappie.”
