New Boat Ramp Dedication in Ceremony Today on Lake Chatuge
Anticipating more than 10,000 users each year, Georgia Department of
Natural Resources Commissioner Mark Williams, Mayor Pro-Tem Liz Ordiales and
other representatives today dedicated the Mayor’s Park Boat Landing, giving boaters
and anglers improved access to Lake Chatuge.
This facility includes a 26-foot
wide concrete boat ramp, 24 parking spaces for trailered vehicles, plus 10
additional car spaces. The area will be accessible to the public 24 hours a
day, seven days a week.
Mayor’s Park Boat Landing
will be part of a larger planned City Park that will include a pavilion,
bathrooms, a dog park, walking trail, fishing piers and picnic areas.
Mayor’s Park Boat Landing was
constructed using a mix of federal Sport Fish Restoration fund dollars, state
and local monies.
