Access to Flint River Improved in Lee and Talbot Counties
Improved Access to Flint River at Hwy. 32 in Lee County
Anglers and boaters will have an easier time accessing the Flint River at both the Hwy. 32 ramp and at Big Lazer PFA/WMA, thanks to efforts by the Georgia DOT and Georgia DNR.
Hwy. 32 Ramp: GA DOT Crews replaced the old
log-style ramp with a new deeper ramp, providing better river access at low
flow.
Big Lazer PFA/WMA: There
is a new hand launch area and canoe steps near
Hickman Island, AND a new 5-vehicle
parking area that can serve as a hand launch area to the edge of Big Lazer
Creek (a short distance away through a cleared path).
