Erosion control silt fencing installation also gets underway in second phase
The
DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) announces that beginning
on Monday, November 6 from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. another section of Rockbridge Road between Stone Mountain-Lithonia Road and South
Hairston Road will be restricted to a single-lane of traffic.
Work crews are beginning the
second section of construction to replace an aging water main. The water main replacement project is being
completed in four phases and is part of DeKalb County’s Capital Improvement
Program.
Motorists
and MARTA passengers that use Rockbridge Road are urged to add extra time to
their daily commute. Single-lane closures will occur in this area until spring
2018.
Lane
closure signs will be in the area alerting motorists to the construction work
and local traffic restrictions. Single-lane closures will occur daily along
Rockbridge Road between South Deshon Road and Memorial Drive throughout DWM's 20-month water main replacement project. Please use caution when approaching and driving through the construction zone.
