A BIG, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the city’s America Celebrates 250th events so amazing and patriotic! The celebrations kicked things off in style with a festive patriotic Boat Parade, followed by a crowd-pleasing Classic Car & Carts Parade. Then, this past weekend, Treasure Island turned up the fun with a hugely successful Silent Disco and capped it all off with a spectacular fireworks show that lit up the sky over Treasure Island Beach!
We’re so proud to be Americans and deeply blessed to live in this beautiful beach community we call home. Thank you for celebrating with us and making it unforgettable!

Congratulations to Firefighter Nick Costa on completing his probationary period with Treasure Island Fire Rescue!
Firefighter Costa has successfully completed all requirements to transition to regular status. He mastered mandatory fire suppression protocols, completed all emergency medical service training, and met every criterion for his new role. During his final probationary test-out, he demonstrated exceptional tactical skills, showed high proficiency in real-world emergency scenarios, and remained fully aligned with TIFR’s core safety values.
TIFR is proud to welcome him as a dedicated professional and asset to the Treasure Island community.
Last night, a formal pinning ceremony was held at the commission meeting to celebrate this milestone, a cherished tradition in the fire service. His mother, father, family, and fellow firefighters were all in attendance to support him, and his father had the honor of pinning the badge on his son.

Each year on July 4th, the TIPD family gathers to enjoy a feast, connect, and, most importantly, serve the community they protect. This special occasion is a TIPD tradition and the only time all staff members are together in one place, so we take a large group photo to commemorate the moment.

The City of Treasure Island has been placing those specially marked Waste Pro containers throughout the beaches, parks, and public areas to help us keep everything nice and clean. They're clearly labeled so you know they're there for all of us to toss our garbage in.
The only problem is that a few of them keep mysteriously walking away. Please leave those containers right where they are. They're not souvenirs, yard decorations, or extra storage for your garage.
Thanks for helping keep Treasure Island looking fresh and much more enjoyable.

The city is pleased to announce that $2.5 million in appropriations funding for a new public safety facility on Treasure Island has been approved. Florida’s state budget, signed by Governor DeSantis on June 29, includes this vital funding.
This investment marks a significant step toward building a modern, hurricane-resistant facility that will house the Treasure Island Police Department and Treasure Island Fire Rescue, enhancing emergency services and safeguarding our community for future generations.
The city thanks Governor DeSantis, the Florida Legislature, Senators Nick DiCeglie and Ed Hooper, and Representatives Linda Chaney and Jason Shoaf for their leadership and support in securing this important funding.
This $2.5 million, combined with last year’s $1.5 million, brings the total from the state to the city for the new public safety facility to $4 million.
The new facility is currently in the design phase, and once the design is finished, it will be shared with both the Commission and the public.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) has extended the “Extreme” Water Shortage Order for Pinellas County and surrounding areas through October 1.
As water levels in our region's main water supply have fallen below 20% capacity, conserving water is more important than ever. Cutting back on outdoor water use is one of the fastest and most effective ways we can all help protect our water supply.
Pinellas County Utilities customers must follow the watering schedule below for reclaimed, potable, well, and lake sources. Pinellas County Utilities staff are required to issue $193 fines for violations of these water restrictions.
