All new signs with instructions on how to pay for parking have been installed, and paid parking has returned. The hourly parking rate is $4/hour, except for side street parking on Sunset Beach, which is $5/hour. You can pay using a smartphone and text to park or use the ParkMobile app.
Please note: With the new license plate reader technology, backing into parking spaces is now prohibited. The license plate must be visible to parking enforcement.
Residential Parking Pass Since the city has transitioned from the outdated pay-by-space operation to a pay-by-plate system, residents no longer have to worry about losing their pass! All the same rules applied to the physical pass now apply to the virtual pass. Residents will need to (1) provide ID, (2) proof of residency, and (3) vehicle registration(s) to purchase a resident parking pass. Only one pass is allowed per residence, with a limit of two vehicles. The digital passes cost $5 per vehicle for the calendar year.
