 After last night's City Commission Workshop, elements of the Terrain Modification Program a.k.a. Elevate T.I. will be reworked. The Local Planning Agency Board workshop and meeting for Elevate T.I. scheduled for tomorrow, Aug. 22, is canceled and future Elevate T.I. meetings are canceled.

 The Life Intervention Focus Team, Inc. (LIFT) is seeking applicants for three vacancies on their Board of Directors.
Details:
- Term Begins: 1
- Meetings:Fourth Tuesday of each month, City Hall, 9 a.m.
- Role:The board is composed of seven Board of Directors appointed by the City Commission.
LIFT, established on January 31, 2022, aims to enhance social services for city residents and the homeless. Organized under Florida state laws, their mission is to advance the availability of crucial social services.

 Treasure Island Fire Rescue Firefighter/Paramedic Juan Martinez and Firefighter/EMS Ash Hubbard were recognized at last night’s City Commission Meeting for their exceptional performance when resuscitating a patient in cardiac arrest.
Pinellas County’s EMS Medical Director awarded Martinez and Hubbard with a Certificate of Commendation for their actions on June 20, 2024. They were members of a team that exhibited exemplary skill and coordination that helped save the life of a person in cardiac arrest.
Thank you, Juan Martinez and Ash Hubbard, for your outstanding service and for being shining examples of the professionalism and skill of Treasure Island Fire Rescue.

 The John Morroni Memorial Dog Park will not be closed this week to pour the two concrete bench slabs. Staff is working with the concrete company to arrange a day that does not have a chance of rain. The dog park may be closed unexpectedly in the upcoming weeks and without notice to pour the slabs. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

 For helpful information, download the "Treasure Island Collects" mobile app. The free application will allow you to:
- Sign up for waste and recycling collection reminders via email, text message, or smart device notification
- Receive notifications about schedule changes and other important reminders
- Print your collection calendar
- Use the waste wizard to determine how to recycle or dispose of various items such as paint, batteries, etc. This tool also lets you know which items can be recycled in your recycling cart at home!

 My Safe Florida Home grant program is now open and accepting applications for home-strengthening improvements! Terms of the grants require homeowners to provide $1 for every $2 from the state, meaning homeowners must pay $5,000 on a $10,000 grant.
