 The Mayor and Commissioners held a Special City Commission Meeting on Friday, April 19, with Doug Thomas from Strategic Government Resources to review candidates for the City Manager position. Commissioners narrowed the field from 62 applicants to 14 semi-finalists. Since then, two candidates have withdrawn their name leaving 12 semi-finalists.
The 12 semi-finalists in no particular order:

- Cary Vargo
- Charles Anderson
- James Slaton
- Jeff Mihelich
- Kenneth Griffin
- Patrick Comiskey
- Lawrence McNaul
- Paul Brake
- Scott Moye
- Taylor Brown
- Thomas Yates
After narrowing the search to 3-5 finalists, the Mayor and Commission will then hold a public meeting on June 19 and 20 to meet the finalists and conduct interviews.

May 15 | 11 a.m.: An informational meeting will be held to review general requirements under the proposed Elevate TI program. The information to be presented is primarily geared towards the development community to include architects, engineers and contractors who permit projects through the city.

June | LPA Workshop | (date and time to be approved by LPA board): LPA Meeting to finalize recommendations for the Terrain Modification Manual and associated LDRs

July/August TBD: City Commission workshop(s)/meetings to adopt the Terrain Modification Manual and associated LDRs. The final timeline is subject to program review and approval by the State.

 Thank you to everyone who came by the Sunset Beach Pavilion on Friday, April 19, and mingled with the Treasure Island Police Chief and officers while enjoying a cup of coffee and cupcakes. It was a beautiful morning meeting and chatting with so many. TIPD will host another event soon.

 Treasure Island is offering dog lovers the opportunity to purchase a commemorative dog park paver to help expand the entranceway at the John Morroni Memorial Dog Park at Rosselli Park. The pavers are $150 each and measure 8" x 8" in size, with a vibrant Admiral Red color. Each paver can be personalized with up to 6 lines of text, with 20 characters per line including spacing and punctuation. This is a great way for dog lovers to leave a lasting mark in the community while supporting a beloved canine-centric space.

 Show your support for Autism Awareness with a Treasure Island Fire Rescue "Autism Awareness" shirt! These shirts are now available for purchase for $30, with proceeds benefitingThe Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD).
CARD provides support and assistance to individuals with autism and related disabilities, with the goal of helping them reach their full potential.
To purchase a shirt, simply send an email to mnelson@mytreasureisland.org, call 727-547-4590 ext. 260 or stop by the fire department located at 180 108th Avenue. TIFR can NOT mail shirts. They will need to be picked up at the station.
