A reminder to Treasure Island residents, visitors and businesses: Please DO NOT dispose of any type of items that could explode in your garbage cans or dumpsters. Examples of such items include propane tanks, helium tanks, batteries, and more. The pressure from the compaction of the garbage in the trucks can cause explosions and fires. Questions on what can or can’t be disposed? Check out the “Where does it go” search tool for proper disposal at https://pinellas.gov/department/solid-waste/.

Sea level rise is a threat recognized at the local, State and Federal levels. In 2021, Governor DeSantis signed legislation to enact the Resilient Florida Program. Among other objectives, the program provides funding to help communities combat sea level rise. One way the city of Treasure Island is doing this is through Elevate T.I., a Terrain Modification Program.
To gain a better understanding of the community’s view on the subject, the city is asking you to take a short survey. CLICK HERE to take the survey.
