Please help us welcome Treasure Island’s new Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Mike Baker. Mike comes to Treasure Island from the city of Largo where he held the position of Athletics and Golf Course Manager since 2015. Prior to that, he was in the great cold North working as the Athletic and Recreation Director for the Greater Midland Community Family Centers in Michigan.
Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Saginaw Valley State University and is a Certified Parks & Recreation Professional, holds a Florida Childcare Director Certification, and is a Florida Notary. Mike is also a member of the Town of Redington Beach Parks & Recreation Board.
We look forward to Mike working to help make our Parks & Recreation Department even better than it already is!

Friendly reminder: No nitrogen or phosphorous may be applied to turfgrass or landscape from June 1 to Sept. 30.
This ban is important because increased rainfall in the summer can cause nutrients from fertilizer to reach bodies of water and lead to environmental issues.
