Treasure Island Improves the Open Records Request Experience for the Public

The city of Treasure Island is improving transparency by making public records easily accessible to the public. Requestors of public information will now have the option of submitting Open Records Requests through an online form. While other methods for submitting requests are still available, Treasure Island is excited to be able to offer a more convenient option.

Rock Around the Clock

We're “gonna” rock around the clock when Treasure Island's favorite block party takes over the streets around the clocktower in downtown on Saturday, May 6 from 6-10 p.m.

Tampa Bay's fastest-growing game show, The Original Bandingo®, will kick off the party at 6 p.m. The Bandigo game show combines bands, Bingo, trivia, karaoke and interactive entertainment. Then the block begins to really rock when #NoFilter takes to the stage at 8 p.m. 

#NoFilter creates a one-of-a-kind, concert-style experience featuring four singer-musicians. Each member plays multiple instruments alongside rich, original backing sounds and elaborate vocals.

While everyone jams to the music, downtown restaurants will be offering up a full menu and outdoor dining while other businesses and vendors set up shop to showcase some of their goods and services. It's an evening to let loose, have some fun, and rock around our charming beach community.

Traffic detour routes during Rock Around the Clock: 107th Avenue will be closed on Saturday, May 6 between the hours of 3-11 p.m. from 1st Street East to Gulf Boulevard. East and westbound traffic can use 104th Avenue, 106th Avenue and 108th Avenue as alternate routes.

State of the Beaches Mayors' Town Hall

The Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions and The Treasure Island and Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce will host a State of the Beaches Town Hall with mayors from across the county, including Treasure Island Mayor Tyler Payne, on April 27.

Each mayor will have the opportunity to talk about how the legislative session impacts each community and what exciting things are happening in their cities.

Volunteers Wanted - Sea Oat Planting

Volunteers wanted to help plant one of our most precious resources - sea oats. Sea oats play a significant role in stabilizing existing sand dunes and in the development of new dunes. Sea oats also provide protection for dunes from storm surges. City staff is looking for volunteers to help with planting sea oats on Treasure Island Beach on April 29 beginning at 8 a.m.

Rotary Club Presents City With Check

At last night's (April 18) City Commission meeting, the Rotary Club of the Gulf Beaches presented a check to the city of Treasure Island from the Rotary Club Golf and Tennis fundraising event that was held at Treasure Bay this past February. This annual fundraising event was another big success for everyone involved.

Treasure Island Police Department Receives Award

At last night's (April 18) City Commission meeting, the Treasure Island Police Department was presented with an award from the Sons of American Legion - Squadron 158, Treasure Island, FL for Best of Show in Class for the department's 1953 Pontiac Chieftain police cruiser. The antique police car won this award at the Spring Salute Benefit Car & Truck Show on April 1.

Purchase a Dog Paver to Honor Your Pet

Honor your fur baby. The Commemorative Dog Park Paver Fundraiser will use the engraved pavers to expand the entranceway at John Morroni Memorial Dog Park at Rosselli Park.

The pavers are 8" x 8" and Admiral Red in color. The standard number of characters offered on an 8x8 paver is 6 lines with 20 characters per line, which includes spacing and punctuation.
