Before the storm:
Inclement weather regulations state that all construction sites must be maintained prior to the start of a storm (aka the rainy and windy season). All owners, occupants or users of the construction site must adhere to this code. Our Building officials and Code Compliance Officers will tour the city prior to the storm to make sure the owners, occupants, and users comply.
Securing site due to weather:
Upon a warning of severe weather, the contractor is responsible for securing loose construction materials and debris. In the event a hurricane watch is issued by the National Weather Service, the owner, occupant or user of a construction site shall comply with the requirements Florida Building Code, by taking all steps necessary to secure the construction site, including, but not limited to, removal or securing of all construction materials, tools and equipment, debris, trash or litter, and loose objects.

This past Monday, Sept. 12, the Treasure Island Police Department celebrated National Police Woman Day. This day acknowledges and celebrates the contribution of female police officers who enforce law and order around the country. Women make up about 12% of all sworn police officers in the United States and 30% of the sworn officers serving with the TIPD. TIPD is thankful for the strong and courageous women that serve with the department and salute them today and every day. #NationalPoliceWomanDay
