In the city’s quest to go digital and paperless, the city has created an online permitting and planning system (OPPS) for submitting permits. By signing into OPPS, you can now follow your permit from submission to issuance.
The city now has 100 permit types available for submittal on the OPPS system. New construction and additions have been omitted from the list for the time being, as well as antennas and right of way permits. These will be added at a future date.

Treasure Island Fire Rescue is proud to award Firefighter/Paramedic Pat Klemba with the Exemplary EMS Performance Award. Klemba was given the award at the June 7 City Commission Meeting.
The Exemplary EMS Performance Award is awarded to an individual for performance during a medical incident where the individual acts in an exceptional manner to bring a situation under control or assist persons in immanent peril.
While off duty and preparing to travel on a family vacation, FF/PM Pat Klemba noticed that an elderly man had fallen while in line at the departure area at Tampa International Airport. Pat immediately went to aid this person and quickly realized that the man was in cardiac arrest. While he began chest compressions, Pat asked a nearby security officer to get an AED and call 911. Pat continued CPR until the AED arrived and assisted in applying two life saving shocks to the patient. Upon arrival of EMS from Tampa Fire Rescue, Pat provided a report and turned over care of the patient. According to Tampa FD staff, the gentleman was still alive on arrival at the hospital.
During his vacation, Pat received a call from a member of the City of Tampa Police Department, informing him that the man was awake and talking, recovering from the cardiac event.
For his selfless efforts and heroic actions helping to save a life, Chief Trip Barrs is proud to present Pat Klemba the department's Exemplary EMS Performance Award.
