Restoration and Resilience at St. Armands Circle
Following the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Milton, the City of Sarasota’s Parks and Recreation team, in collaboration with the Public Works department, led a comprehensive restoration of St. Armands Circle and its surrounding medians. The project began with the removal of storm debris, damaged trees, shrubs, and turf, followed by a detailed assessment of what could be preserved.
Guided by principles of resilience and sustainability, the team implemented a thoughtful redesign that included:
- Saltwater-tolerant, native plants to withstand future storm impacts
- Low-maintenance landscaping to reduce long-term upkeep
- Environmentally conscious choices to minimize irrigation and chemical use
- Year-round visual appeal through flowering trees and shrubs
- Durable, salt-resistant turfgrass to support high foot traffic and special events
Now fully refreshed, St. Armands Circle Park is ready to welcome you back! We invite the community to come experience the revitalized green space and take time to visit the many small local businesses that make the City of Sarasota such a vibrant and special place.

 Exciting improvements are on the horizon at the Bobby Jones Golf Club Nature Park! In the near future, we’ll begin a multi-phase enhancement project designed to elevate the park’s natural beauty and visitor experience. Plans include lush landscaping upgrades, the installation of micro forests to support local wildlife, and significant trail improvements. New features will include a Wetland Pavilion, a shaded Rookery/Observation Node, a shaded Marsh Overlook, a scenic Boardwalk, and a Driving Range Observation Node—each offering unique ways to connect with nature. If you haven’t explored The Nature Trail yet, now is the perfect time to add it to your must-see list of Sarasota parks. We’re thrilled to begin these enhancements as part of our ongoing commitment to enriching the parks and green spaces that make the City of Sarasota such a vibrant community.

Vendor Opportunity at Haunted Trail
It's not too late to join us for a spooky good time at Haunted Trail Carnival. Reservations are being accepted from local organizations to host a booth along the half-mile walking trail until October 12.
Vendor Details:
- Set-up must be complete by 4:45 pm
- Booths will be spaced along the trail
- Must bring a game and candy or treats to hand out
- Share your organization’s info with the community

Floating Pumpkin Patch
You have probably been to a pumpkin patch, but have you been to a pumpkin splash? Come take a swim and pick your favorite pumpkin from our floating pumpkin patch! Bring your own supplies or use the decorations and carving tools provided. Each participant gets to take their pumpkin home!
