BRIDGE NO. 175000 NORTH PORT BOULEVARD OVER COCOPLUM WATERWAY BRIDGE REHABILITATION
The City of North Port is requesting sealed bids to secure the services of an experienced, professional, licensed, and qualified Contractor capable of providing construction services to rehabilitate Bridge No. 175000 North Port Boulevard over Cocoplum Waterway. The City intends to select one Contractor for over waterway bridge rehabilitation services. This RFB includes funding from The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through a Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) through Resilient SRQ that the City has received. The types of rehabilitation work anticipated include concrete spall and crack repair, pretension strand repair, reconstruction of bridge approach slabs, joint replacement, milling and resurfacing of bridge deck, and other tasks as described in the Contract Drawings and Specifications.

All potential Bidders are recommended to attend the non-mandatory pre-bid conference; and site visit will be conducted to answer questions regarding the bid requirements. The purpose of the Pre-Bid Meeting is to provide a briefing on the City’s expectations and performance requirements for submission of Bid documents. Site visit will follow.

This is a federally assisted project and is subject to Federal Labor Standards which include, the Davis-Bacon Act (payment of prevailing wage rates) and the Copeland Act (anti-kickback of wages & submission of weekly certified payroll reports), as well as other provisions including 2 CFR 200 (bonding requirements), and Section 3 & M/WBE. Laborers and mechanics employed by primary contractors and sub-contractors performing construction work on this project shall be paid wages at rates not less than the prevailing rates as determined by the Secretary of Labor in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act. The prime contractor is responsible for the enforcement of wage compliance and support documentation for the duration of the project and may be held liable for wage restitution.
