Annual Employee Safety & Wellness Fair

You’re invited to the most awaited event of the year on behalf of our Aetna sponsored Wellness program!  We want to make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun.  It’s the event everyone has been buzzing about and we can’t wait to see you there! We hit the ground running for FY 2024 and are excited to share our “Save the Date” with you for our annual Employee Safety and Wellness Fair.  We understand that with some work schedules it can be difficult to get out into the community to see what is available.  So, we’re bringing the community to you!  Make sure to mark your calendars.  There will be tons of vendors (medical, educational, sports, insurance, etc.) for employees to visit.  Grab-and-go lunches will be provided along with raffle items! Date: Thursday, December 7, 2023 Time: 11:00-2:00 p.m. Location: George Mullen Activity Center This year we are collecting dog or cat food and toys for tots.  If you bring an item to donate, you will get a raffle ticket for that donation booth.  Both donation booths will have the opportunity to win a pair of Costa Del Mar’s.  If you bring a toy and a food item, you get a chance at both tables.  When you check in at the Safety & Wellness Fair, you will receive a raffle ticket for one chance at the 26 different giveaway options. Don't forget to grab your fabulous Tervis tumbler! *You only get one raffle ticket per table, not per item.

Donate a bag of cat or dog food and you will receive a raffle ticket for a pair of FEMALE Costa Del Mar's!

Donate an unwrapped toy to the Fire Department booth and you will receive a raffle ticket for a pair of MALE Costa Del Mar's!

Donate a non-perishable food item (for human consumption) and you will receive a raffle ticket for a fishing rod & reel set from Dick's Sporting Goods!

Big Brothers Big Sisters / Beyond School Walls School Year 2023/2024

This year we have 17 students that have joined the Beyond School Walls program from North Port High School, so thank you to staff for volunteering to mentor our littles and making a difference! We have planned several inter-active sessions to help educate them on the different departments & divisions in our great City. We kicked off in September with a Meet & Greet and tour of City Hall. In October, we had the opportunity to learn from the Facilities Manger and her team about all the phases of the construction project for the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park with a guided tour of the trail from Gale Construction. In November, we met with the Communications Team, the Emergency Manager and Police for table top exercises and learning how to podcast. We will break for the month of December and resume sessions in January. Stay tuned for what we are working on with the littles for the remainder of the school year!

Holiday Cards on City Center Green

This year, the City Clerk's office had a team building exercise and created a fabulous holiday card to contribute to the many others located on City Center Green!

If any departments would like to participate next year in Holiday Card Lane, they can send an email to kiwanisofnorthport@gmail.com and a member, Sheri Simon will be in touch with them. The cards are always put up the Sunday after Thanksgiving and are on display through Jan. 7, which is after the Ukraine New Year, to be fair to those who live in our community. The display, which can be done on vinyl and attached to the board or on a wooden board, must also have two posts. The boards are dropped off by noon on the Sunday when the Kiwanis members are erecting the display on City Center Green. It is a $75 donation. For more information, call 941-223-7120.
