Our annual Summer Reading Challenge is here! From signing up to tracking your reading to enjoying virtual programs and events, this year the challenge is happening online. You can participate from the comfort of your own home now through August 8 – and you'll still have the chance to win great prizes at the end of the challenge.
Every 30 minutes you read or listen to a book, magazine, comic book, newspaper - all reading counts! - gets you an entry ticket into the prize drawing. The more you read, the greater your chances of winning! Attend virtual library programs for more chances to win!
Avoid the Summer Slide Participating in the Online Summer Reading Challenge can help students avoid the "summer slide," the tendency to lose some of the achievement gains made during the previous school year. Reading for just 20 minutes a day helps kids and teens retain and enhance their reading skills.
Visit www.mdpls.org/summerreading to sign-up today and for more information.
Open to all ages.
Thank you to the Miami Marlins for supporting our 2020 Summer Reading Challenge. Be sure to check out their Summer Slugger Program for fun, baseball themed literacy and math games.
