Leon County Welcomes the 6th Annual
Florida State Invitational Soccer Tournament

One of the Largest Youth Sporting Events in the Region

More than 180 youth soccer teams from five states will compete in Leon County during the 6th Annual Florida State Invitational (FSI) Soccer Tournament, hosted by the Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur Futbol Club and sponsored by Leon County Government, on April 10-12, at the Florida State University (FSU) Rec SportsPlex.

The tournament is one of the largest youth sporting events in the region. Teams comprised of male and female players in the under-8 through under-18 age divisions, come from Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama and Florida to compete. Hosted at the FSU Rec SportsPlex, the tournament will use 21 sports fields within the 104-acre facility, which is the only sports facility large enough to host the event in one location.

“We welcome the teams and their supporters to our area and congratulate the Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur Futbol Club on the growth of this event,” said Lee Daniel, Executive Director of the Leon County Division of Tourism Development. “The event showcases our quality sporting venues and brings significant economic benefit to the community.”

The Leon County Division of Tourism Development, in its ongoing efforts to increase the number of visitors to the area, provides special events and sporting events grants throughout the year.  This organization was one of 79 sporting events that received support through Leon County’s Tourism grants program.

“Tallahassee Tottenham is extremely excited about attracting so many competitive soccer teams to play here in Tallahassee,” said Robert Hosay, President of Tallahassee Tottenham. “Since inception, we’ve been able to grow the FSI each year due to incredible facilities, hospitality and a wonderfully executed event. Our success would not be possible without the cooperation and support of Leon County, Florida State University, our dedicated community sponsors and volunteers.”
