Leon Ready Neighborhood Readiness Training
Prepare for the Atlantic Hurricane Season with your neighborhood by registering for Leon Ready’s Neighborhood Readiness Trainings. Trainings are roughly 30 minutes and are designed to be a part of regularly scheduled neighborhood meetings. Summer BreakSpot Continues in July All summer long, Leon County Government and Second Harvest of the Big Bend are proud to offer free healthy, packaged meals and snacks to kids and teens 18 and under at three Leon County Public Library locations. No registration is required, and meals must be eaten inside the building.

Summer Backyard Bucket List Continues in July Citizens are invited to support local businesses and explore their local community with the Summer Backyard Bucket List Challenge. Each month of the challenge will feature a new “bucket list” of local businesses to explore including attractions, restaurants, breweries, shops and museums. Residents who visit featured businesses and post a picture on Instagram using the hashtag #TallyBucketListSweepstakes will be entered for a chance to win monthly prizes and a grand prize staycation for two. Each post earns participants one entry to the contest. A non-social media option for entry is also available at participating locations by scanning the unique QR code on-site. Fertilizer Rain Delay Continues in July. The Fertilizer Rain Delay campaign reminds homeowners and professional fertilizer applicators not to apply fertilizer for at least one day ahead of forecasted heavy rain (1 inch or more in 24 hours). Check Leon County social media pages for a reminder to refrain from fertilizing whenever there is heavy rain in the forecast.
