WHAT: Apalachee Regional Park Improvements Unveiling
WHEN: Monday, September 13 at 11 a.m.
WHERE:

Leon County Government invites the community to an unveiling event at Apalachee Regional Park. The event will celebrate the recent improvements to the park, including a newly constructed multipurpose building with restrooms, multiuse stage, sidewalks, wildlife viewing areas, native species landscaping and a permanent finish line structure.

The celebration will take place just three days before the start of the biggest cross country season yet. The celebration of this new space will highlight how investments at Apalachee Regional Park have helped make Leon County a major sports tourism destination, where champions run. The fall 2021 cross country lineup at Apalachee Regional Park alone is anticipated to bring in over 35,000 visitors and result in $10 million in direct spending.

The improvements also align with the County’s strategic goal to promote livability, health and a sense of community by enhancing mobility and accessibility, encouraging human scale development and creating public spaces for people. Refreshments to be served at the event.
