Did You Know...?

Does your K-8th grade student need help working on a tough homework assignment or have questions about a lesson?

Homework Hub is a free program pairing students with tutors in a one-on-one environment. Our volunteer tutors are ready to help your student with math, English, social studies and science!

Tutoring sessions are held in-person and virtually through Zoom. 

In-person tutoring: 

• Mondays at the Leon County Main Library between 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
• Tuesdays at the Dr. B. L. Perry, Jr. Branch Library between 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. 
• Drop-ins welcome, no reservation needed.
• Submit the electronic permission form.

Virtual tutoring through Zoom:

• Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. 
• 30-minute to hour-long one-to-one tutoring sessions on Zoom.
• Submit the electronic permission form and staff will reach out to schedule a Zoom session.

Create Your Garden Bucket 
Thursday, October 7 @ 5 p.m.
Dr. B.L. Perry, Jr. Branch Library

The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library has partnered with the UF/IFAS Extension Office to teach the community how to grow their own garden out of a five gallon bucket, no yard work or garden beds required.

Molly Jameson from the University of Florida's Institution of Food and Agricultural Sciences will teach the class how to assemble the bucket and plant and care for crops in the buckets. The Library will provide a bucket, soil and seeds from its Fall Seed Library for planting (you can even plant more than one seed in the bucket!).

Health Literacy Month

October is Health Literacy Month! Stop by any Library location after October 5 to pick up a free swag bag with information and tools to help you attain a healthy lifestyle.

Adult Services

Talk about your favorite books and read new ones in one of our many book clubs. Pop-Up Book Club, Mystery Book Club, History Book Club, Bucket List Book Club, Fiction/Non-Fiction Book Club and Young (Adult) at Heart Book Club read a variety of works paired with engaging discussions.

Join Bedtime Math's Crazy 8s Club, where you'll build stuff, run and jump, make music, make a mess - it's a totally new kind of math club! You'll get to take home some cool gadgets, too.

Free Masks Available at All Leon County Public Libraries In response to the recently revised CDC guidance and a surge in COVID-19 infections driven by the Delta variant, the County is continuing to offer reusable cloth face masks at all LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library locations during regular hours.
