Leon County Public Library Creates Workshops for Kindergarten Readiness

WHEN: Wednesday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 19 at 11:00 a.m.

Join the LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Public Library and the Florida Center for Reading Research for virtual kindergarten readiness workshops. The “Ready for School” workshops are designed for caregivers with pre-school aged children preparing for kindergarten through first grade. Workshops will feature all five early literacy practices of sing, talk, read, write and play, and share tips and resources to help children strengthen important reading skills.  

 

Two virtual workshops will be held on the following days: 

 

  • Wednesday, June 16 from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. 
  • Saturday, June 19 from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. 

 

Activity bags featuring hands-on activities for the workshop will be available at all library locations beginning June 5.
