Leon County Holiday Closures and Service Changes for

Memorial Day 

The following holiday closures and service changes will occur in observance of Memorial Day.

Closed Monday, May 31

  • Leon County offices
  • Leon County libraries
  • Leon County Animal Control
  • Leon County Solid Waste and Rural Waste Service Centers and Household Hazardous Waste Center

Remain Open for the Holidays

  • Leon County boat landings, passive parks, greenways and trails will remain open.

Additional Service Information

The LeRoy Collins Leon County Branch Libraries will close in-person, curbside and telephone services on Saturday, May 29 at 4 p.m. The LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Library will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 30. The LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Library and branch libraries will resume normal  in-person, curbside and telephone hours on Tuesday, June 1. 

The Woodville, Ft. Braden and Miccosukee Rural Waste Service Centers will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 30. All Leon County Solid Waste and Rural Waste Service Centers and Household Hazardous Waste Center will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, June 1.

In the event of an animal-related emergency, service is available by calling the Consolidated Dispatch Agency at (850) 606-5800. Leon County Animal Control encourages residents to only use this service to report dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals and animal cruelty. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St. Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.
