Greetings from Leon County Parks and Recreation!

During COVID-19, many things have changed in our community. From schools transitioning to online learning to non-essential businesses closing, one thing that has remained constant is the beauty of our parks and greenways. And we want you to enjoy these spaces, but while continuing to maintain a social distance and following our do's and dont's. These rules are put in place to protect our natural beauty, other patrons and pets, and you. Learn more here.


How to Enjoy the Greenways Safely

Birds

Get out in nature and enjoy the following activities:

  • Birdwatching
  • bicycling
  • hiking
  • running
  • horseback riding
  • picnicking
  • meditation
  • wildlife observation 

Prohibited Activities at the Greenways

Prohibited activities are dogs off leash, motorized vehicles (including motorcycles and golf carts), model rockets, remote control airplanes or vehicles, golfing, archery, and hunting.

Bike Month

Bike Month May is Bike Month! We encourage you to get out on the J R Alford Greenway, Miccosukee Greenway, or Fred George Greenway to enjoy the beautiful spring weather by bike.
