October is Family History Month and Leon County wants to help you find your family's roots with the launch of a new free resource: Ancestry Library Edition. This access brings the world's most popular consumer online genealogy resource, Ancestry.com, to your local County library free of charge.

Residents and visitors to the Leon County Library System can now access Ancestry Library Edition while inside the Library (no library card required) from the Library’s network via a laptop or Library computer. Residents and visitors that use the Ancestry Library Edition’s free resource can save over $200 annually in membership service fees.

Ancestry Library Edition is one of the most important genealogical collections available today and allows users to learn more about their family history. This resource has a vast collection of the world’s largest collection of online records, including census, vital, church, court and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada, Europe, Australia and other areas of the world.

Please note, free access to the Ancestry Library Edition is only available at County libraries and not from home.
