WHERE: Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare – Parking Lot C, 1300 Miccosukee Rd.

Leon County will host the 22nd Annual Fire Truck Roundup on Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare – Parking Lot C, 1300 Miccosukee Rd. The event highlights and celebrates the men and women in Leon County who dedicate their time and service to protect life and property.

The community is encouraged to attend this fun, exciting and family-friendly appreciation event in honor of Leon County’s volunteer firefighters. The event will include free food, drinks and music, as well as activities for kids including explore a fire truck, face painting, a bounce house, giveaways and more. The Volunteer Firefighter of the Year Award will be presented at 11 a.m.

The Earl Bacon Insurance Agency has sponsored this event for the past 22 years and will make a donation to each Volunteer Firefighter Department in honor of Jack Harron, former Miccosukee Fire Chief who lost a battle with cancer. Chief Harron served 17 years as fire chief and was instrumental in the creation of the annual Volunteer Firefighter Fire Truck Roundup.

Information on how to become a volunteer firefighter will be available, along with the opportunity to speak one-on-one with a volunteer firefighter about the many rewards of joining the team.
