Leon County Celebrates America Recycles Day

WHAT:            Leon County Celebrates America Recycles Day

WHEN:           Thursday, November 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

WHERE:         Cascades Park, 1001 S Gadsden St

Join Leon County Government in celebrating America Recycles Day at Cascades Park on Thursday, November 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for an interactive and educational day on how to properly recycle in Leon County.

The event entitled, “The Crimes of Unusual Suspects” shines a light on everyday but not “top-of-mind” consumer products, which can and should be given another life through recycling. These items include aluminum pans that are used to bake, plastic laundry detergent bottles, and cardboard rolls used for toilet paper, paper towels, and wrapping paper.

November 15 is America Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the nation. To educate citizens about recycling in Leon County the event will include interactive displays, kids activities, as well as tips about how and what to recycle.

Recycling can drastically reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and conserve our natural resources. Through recycling, we are able to save energy and money, all while spreading environmental awareness.
