Award-Winning Speaker Joins County Panel to Talk Placemaking

Leon County invites citizens to the first Library Lecture Series of the new year with “Why we love where we live,” by Dr. Katherine Loflin, an award-winning, two-time TEDx speaker. The lecture will explore the science of placemaking on Wednesday, January 24 at 6 p.m. at The Gathering in Collegetown, 705 S Woodward Ave.
Following the lecture, Dr. Loflin will join County staff and planners, as well as private developers for a discussion about local successes and the future of placemaking in our community.
Dr. Katherine Loflin, also known as the “City Doctor,” is an internationally award-winning placemaking consultant, speaker, and instructor in cities around the world. She has been quoted widely in the press including Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Winnipeg Free Press, Crain’s Detroit Business, Miami Herald, Pioneer Press, Charlotte Observer, CBS News, The Atlantic, Axiom News and LA Times.
