Waste Pro Yard Waste Collection Returns to Regular Schedule

Waste Pro’s regularly scheduled yard waste collections will return to normal operations for subscribers beginning Thursday, October 19. During the yard waste collection postponement, Waste Pro assisted Leon County with storm-related debris collection throughout the community. Yard waste will be picked up on a customer’s regularly scheduled day.

Debris removal crews estimate that the majority of storm-related debris will be collected by the end of this weekend. Crews will continue to collect debris until the first pass has been completed by Sunday, October 22. After that time, a second pass will be performed for citizens with additional storm-related debris following Hurricane Irma.

Also, to aid in cleanup and recovery efforts, vegetative waste collection at Leon County Rural Waste Sites and the Solid Waste Management Facility will remain free of charge to Leon County residents through Sunday, October 22. To view locations and operating hours, visit the Leon County Solid Waste website.

When organizing yard waste piles for regular Waste Pro collection, piles should be no larger than 6 feet long, 4 feet high and 4 feet wide. You can have as many of these sized piles at the curb as needed.

For additional information on storm-related debris, visit www.LeonCountyFL.gov/ei or contact the Leon County Solid Waste Management Division at (850) 606-1800.
