Leon County Hosts Third Annual Leon Works Expo
County Helps Bridge Skilled Workforce Gap of the Future

Leon County invites the community to “Define Your Own Success” at the third annual Leon Works Expo on Friday, October 20 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the FSU Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, 505 West Pensacola Street.

In the morning, Leon County Government and community partners will prepare more than 500 high school students to engage with employers and academic institutions. In the afternoon, the Expo will be open to everyone in the community who may be seeking a career change or interested in developing new skills in the areas of health, business, information technology, creative, and trade.

To help job seekers, Leon County Government and community partners will offer the following free services in the afternoon:

  • Connecting with employers seeking workers for skilled jobs
  • Networking with peers and professors on new opportunities
  • Academic institutions offering education and career path training
  • Professional headshots for social media accounts and personal branding
  • Mock interview training and resume review with industry experts 

Over the past two years, Leon County’s Leon Works Expo has connected more than 600 high school students and nearly 400 other job seekers to over 100 academic institutions, private businesses, nonprofit agencies, and public sector partners.
