Community Input Will Guide Comprehensive Plan Updates
Community Input Will Guide Comprehensive Plan Updates
Leon County and the City of Tallahassee will host a series of meetings to gain input from the community for the Comprehensive Plan, a blueprint for the economic, social, physical, environmental and fiscal development of the community over the next 20 years.
During the month of October, six workshops will be held at various locations. All meetings begin at 6 p.m.
• Monday, Oct. 2 - Lake Jackson Community Center, 3840 N. Monroe St, Suite 301
• Thursday, Oct. 5 - Community Room at Amtrak Center, 918 Railroad Avenue
• Monday, Oct. 9 - Jack McLean Park Community Center, 700 Paul Russell Road
• Thursday, Oct. 12 - Dorothy Spence Community Center, 4768 Chaires Cross Road
• Monday, Oct. 23 - Bradfordville Community Center, 6808 Beech Ridge Trail
• Monday, Oct. 30 - Fort Braden Community Center, 16387 Blountstown Highway
The Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department will use the recommendations of the community to draft Land Use and Mobility Goals for the Comprehensive Plan. This public policy addresses how and where development occurs, how natural resources are preserved and protected, and how places are connected with roads, sidewalks, bike lanes and trails.
Leon County and the City of Tallahassee jointly developed their first comprehensive plan in 1981. The Comprehensive Plan is a dynamic document that can be amended on an annual basis.
