County and City Closures and Service Changes In

Preparation for Hurricane Irma

 

Leon County offices, libraries and parks will be closed Sunday, Sept. 10; Monday, Sept. 11; and Tuesday, Sept. 12. Also, the Tuesday, Sept. 12, Leon County Board of County Commissioners Meeting, Public Hearing and Crime Statistics Workshop have been canceled.

City of Tallahassee administrative offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 11, and Tuesday, Sept. 12. All youth and adult sports practices and games and the Meadows Soccer Complex have been cancelled today (Friday, Sept. 8) through Tuesday night. The pools, tennis and gymnastics facilities will remain open through Saturday night during normal operating hours and close Sunday through Tuesday night. All Leon County sponsored sports provider activities for Pop Warner, Little League, and Babe Ruth have been canceled Saturday, Sept. 9 through Tuesday night.

Solid waste collection in the City and County will be suspended on Monday, Sept. 11. Residential collection will shift one day (Tuesday through Saturday) next week. Residents are urged to secure their collection bins during the storm.

Additionally, City commercial solid waste customers with dumpsters who typically receive service on Monday will receive service on Sunday (the day prior) this weekend.
