National Disability Voter Registration Week 2017 is almost here!  The Leon County Supervisor of Elections and Leon County Government have joined together to promote the National Disability Voter Registration Week 2017 with voting machine demonstrations and a series of voter registration drives at your favorite County libraries.

This outreach effort is a new partnership between the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and EveryLibrary to bring National Disability Voter Registration Week 2017 to libraries across the country. Hundreds of libraries in nearly all 50 states have signed on to promote the goals of the July 17 -21, 2017 National Disability Voter Registration Week through programming, outreach, public education, and voter registration partnerships or on-site services.

In Leon County, we will have official voting machines at the LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Library so that patrons can practice voting by inserting their paper ballot or by using the Accessible Voting Session.  Voter registration drives will be held at all six branch libraries during the week.  Supervisor of Elections volunteers will be on site to register potential voters.  The schedule is as follows:

Official voting machine demonstrations & voter registration drive

Sunday, July 16 - 3 pm to 6 pm

Main Library, LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library, 200 W. Park Ave.

Monday, July 17 - 3 pm to 6 pm

Friday, July 21 - Noon to 3 pm

Our libraries are a great place to learn how to use official voting machines and to get registered to vote.  These exercises allow new and potential voters time to recognize the ease of use, flexibility and security of the voting machines.  Voting machine demonstrations are a public service offered by your Leon County Supervisor of Elections.

Contact the Leon County Supervisor of Elections office for more information about this outreach event.
