Leon County Continues Bridging Skilled Job Gap

Leon County invites the community to “Define Your Own Success” at the Leon Works Expo on Thursday, October 20 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lively Technical Center, 500 Appleyard Drive.

In the morning, Leon County Government and community partners will be preparing more than 325 high school students to engage with employers and academic institutions. In the afternoon, the Expo will be open to everyone in the community who may be seeking a career change or interested in developing new skills. 

To help job seekers, Leon County Government and community partners will offer the following free services: 

  • Employers seeking workers for skilled jobs
  • Academic institutions offering education and career path training
  • Networking with peers and professors on new opportunities
  • Professional headshots for social media accounts and personal branding
  • Mock interview training with industry experts 

Last year, Leon County connected more than 300 high school students and nearly 200 job seekers with over 80 academic institutions, private businesses, non profit agencies, and public sector partners through the Leon Works Expo.
