CONA, County, City Remind Residents to Submit Applications for the Neighborhood Recognition Program
Application deadline set for May 9

 


The Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA), Leon County and the City of Tallahassee are encouraging residents to complete and submit their applications for the 2016 Neighborhood Recognition Program before or on the day of deadline, which is Friday, May 9, 2016. 

The Neighborhood Recognition Program, now in its 36th season, recognizes outstanding neighborhoods in three categories: Small - 200 or fewer homes; Large - more than 200 homes; and Unincorporated Area - outside the city limits. It also honors the Neighbor of the Year, which is given to an individual who exemplifies the characteristics of leadership and service in making contributions to his or her community. Additionally, CONA will be accepting nominations for its 2016 Public Servant of the Year and 2016 Business Neighbor of the Year. 

This summer, winners of the Neighborhood of the Year and Neighbor of the Year awards will be announced at the 36th Annual Awards Reception, set for Monday, June 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Capital City Country Club, 1601 Golf Terrace Dr. CONA will also present its annual Public Servant of the Year and Business Neighbor of the Year awards.

Leon County will be accepting online Neighborhood of the Year applications and Neighbor of the Year nominations at www.LeonCountyFL.gov/NOTY. Applications for the City of Tallahassee are available at Talgov.com.
