MarineQuest School Daze 2019

squirt

Although the MarineQuest Open House on Saturday, October 19th was cancelled due to a tropical system moving through Florida, School Daze, which ran on Thursday and Friday, the 17th and 18th, took place as scheduled. Area schools were able to tour the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, inside and out, and speak with biologists about their work and careers in science and conservation. School Daze 2019 had over 1,000 students visit FWRI over the two days of the event.

Even though the public was unable to attend this year, we are still very pleased so many local school-children were able to visit. Visit our flickr page for more photos of the event. Stay tuned for updates concerning MarineQuest 2020.

We appreciate the outpouring of support and assistance from the public surrounding a condition affecting Florida panthers and bobcats. The cause has not been determined; however, FWC researchers and collaborators continue to conduct extensive testing.
