CELEBRATE
EARTH DAY IN FLORIDA

hosts Earth Day events statewide~
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection invites residents
and visitors across the state to celebrate Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22. The
department is partnering with organizations statewide to host state park
cleanups, educational workshops and celebratory festivals.
Earth Day is a nationwide event that began on April 22, 1970,
making this the 45th anniversary of the annual event. Events on Earth Day
spread education and awareness about the impact every person has on the health
of the planet.
In Florida, DEP will host events from April 18 through 26. The
events provide a wide range of activities so that everyone can find a way to
celebrate Earth Day.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Lake Wales – Earth Day Recycle Crafts at Lake Kissimmee State Park –
April 18
North Palm Beach – Great American Cleanup at John D. MacArthur Beach State
Park – April 18
Destin – Beach Cleanup at Henderson Beach State Park – April 25
Panama City Beach – Comcast Cares Day Coastal Cleanup at St. Andrews State Park
– April 25
