DEP TO HOST ACQUISITION AND RESTORATION COUNCIL MEETING
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of State Lands is hosting its regularly scheduled public meeting of the Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) regarding land acquisition and management issues on Friday, April 17.
ARC, a 10-member group, comprises four appointees of the Governor, one appointee by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), one appointee by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services and a representative from DEP. The council also includes one member from each of the following: FWC, Florida Forest Service and the Division of Historical Resources. ARC has responsibility for the evaluation, selection and ranking of state land acquisition projects on the Florida Forever priority list, as well as the review of management plans and land uses for all state-owned conservation lands.
