INDIAN RIVER LAGOON PRESERVE STATE PARK TO HOST PUBLIC MEETING
~The public is invited to share input on the land management plans~
MELBOURNE BEACH – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Park Service will host a public workshop and presentation of the proposed update to the management plan for Indian River Lagoon State Park on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
Proposed
updates include:
- Adding a
trailhead with kiosk, shared-use trails and trailside interpretative
signage for increased hiking, bicycling and interpretive opportunities;
- Adding two
day-use areas with a canoe/kayak launch, picnic pavilion and restroom for
increased paddling and picnicking opportunities;
- Adding two
primitive camping areas; and

Building a
residence/shop area to provide park support facilities.
Following the public workshop, the advisory group will meet to review the updates to the management plan on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Ocean Grill Restaurant in Sebastian Inlet State Park.
