DEVIL'S MILLHOPPER GEOLOGICAL STATE PARK TO HOST PUBLIC WORKSHOP
~The public is invited to share input on land management plans~
GAINESVILLE – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Park Service will host a public workshop to present the proposed updates to the management
plan for Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Public comment will be accepted.
Proposed
updates include:
-
Expanded interpretive opportunities in the park,
including a renovated visitor center with interpretive exhibit upgrades and
upgraded trailside signage;
-
Enhanced picnicking opportunities with the
addition of picnic pavilions in the visitor center area;
- Developing additional park support facilities
including a volunteer campsite; and
-
Improving visitor access with walkway/trail
stabilization.
The Advisory
Group Meeting to review the updates to the management plan will be held Thursday,
May 1, 2014.
